Desmond Parkin, OD

Dr. Desmond Parkin has been in private practice for over twenty years. He attended Utica College of Syracuse University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Biology in 1984. He then attended the State University of New York College of Optometry where he completed his Doctoral Degree in Optometry in 1988. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the National Optometric Association. Dr. Parkin believes in giving back/providing professional service to those in need. In that vain, he provides free eye exams and glasses to third world countries of the Caribbean. Most notably, he collaborates extensively with the DREAM foundation in the Dominican Republic.

Ann V. Arthur, MD

Dr. Ann V. Arthur was appointed Director of the Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, an affiliate of the SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn and the Mt. Sinai Health System, in 1995. Her practice is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disorders in children.

A Brooklyn native, Dr. Arthur received her undergraduate degree from Brown University. She graduated from Yale University School of Medicine with a Doctorate of Medicine. After completing her internship at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City, Dr. Arthur completed her residency training in ophthalmology at Case Western Reserve University.

She completed her fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and adult motility disorders at the prestigious and world renowned Wills Eye Hospital.
